Vista Center has reached a point of inflection.
After completing our second merger, we have the opportunity to augment our outcomes by designing improved programs for youth, working adults, and seniors, thereby becoming one of the strongest service providers in Northern California, continuing to serve thousands of visually impaired clients annually.
At this point in Vista Center’s evolution, our business operations must be augmented to support client demands and the rapid response expected of us as we serve today’s visually impaired community members. Our staff and infrastructure are challenged to manage a larger and more geographically distributed set of stakeholders that include a diverse client base, network of suppliers, and portfolio of volunteers and donors.
Like other excellent service organizations, our greatest asset is not on the balance sheet, it is our staff. Vista Center has a wonderful and competent, mission-driven team that provides client services across several facilities. Over 30% of Vista professional staff and volunteers are blind or visually impaired. We are proactive in providing education, support groups, social skills development, orientation and mobility training, combined with a myriad of customized activities to ensure each client reaches the goal of their Best Life. Supporting our staff with improved technology and resources will assist Vista Center in continuing to improve upon high standards in meeting rapidly increasing demand from clients.
