about Vista Center
Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, founded in 1936. Our mission is to empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired to embrace life to the fullest through evaluation, counseling, education, and training.
In 2018, Vista Center served over 3300 individuals and families by providing comprehensive low vision services. Our clients are individuals threatened by the loss of independence due to moderate or severe vision loss. We serve those of all ages, who live in San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties.
Our focus is to teach new skills and strategies to overcome the impact of vision loss on daily living activities and one’s emotional well-being. Vista Center customizes clients plan(s) to increase the opportunity for success, supporting the idea that every client can reach their personal goals.
We serve clients in four counties from all socioeconomic backgrounds, regardless of their ability to pay. We empower people living with visual impairment by providing the support they need acquire the skills necessary to care for themselves safely, independently, and with dignity – building their BEST LIFE.
